WOW where to start?
From the first car at 17 I was playing with car audio, I remember cobbling together a system with a Kenwood graphic equaliser, you know the ones with the tiny slider switches? Yes I’m that old…
So fast forward a few years and after some encouragement from a few friends ICECavern was born.
The purpose of the site was to bring those that had a love of car audio together with installers, along with promoting the bricks and mortar stores and installers who had just started to struggle as online retailers started to dominate the market.
In 2003 I supported the first UK installer challenge. A 48 hour straight install competition between two teams aiming to produce the best install each with an MG ZR and a pile of materials.

The forum grew and had a large membership and the pinnacle being the site stand at Donny South in 2005 where I had the privilege to display the Alpine Demo car built by Phil Leech.

At the same show I was competing in IASCA and won 1st place in my class on that round

That same year I won IASCA UK in the Rookie 600+ class, and overall Rookie UK Champion.
The year after I trained as an EMMA UK Install judge and enjoyed travelling around the country judging. Being good friends with Gordon Taylor I of course was running Genesis drivers and amps, and a Pioneer source, but never had the time to compete from that point on as in the expert classes so much more time was required.
In 2010 I closed the doors and shut down the ICECavern forum. A difficult decision but the costs of running a forum of the size it had become, along with the change in the industry meaning only the online retailers had the funds to support the site ( something that I had been keen to avoid ) meant the site had to close.
Fast forward to today, and I’m sat in my Polestar 2 disappointed again in the system in it. So here’s a new chapter, lets see where the rabbit hole leads 🙂
